Objective assessment. Earlier Detection. Performance Understood.

The Supple Equine Club is a private equine assessment and monitoring facility based at St Giles Stud and led by Dr Dinah Ashley-Cooper, MRCVS.
Combining objective gait analysis with veterinary clinical interpretation, we help owners and riders build a clearer understanding of how their horse is moving over time - supporting informed decisions around training, workload, management, comfort, and long-term performance.
Where appropriate, carefully selected minimally invasive therapies such as mesotherapy, electroacupuncture, and shockwave therapy may also be recommended as part of an individualised approach.
Every horse is assessed as an individual. In many cases, consistent monitoring and measured management adjustments are the most valuable intervention.

ASSESSMENT, INTERPRETED CLINICALLY.
UNDERSTANDING THE HORSE BEFORE
PROBLEMS ESCALATE
Performance issues rarely appear suddenly.
More often, they begin as subtle changes in movement, comfort, recovery, or behaviour - changes that are difficult to measure consistently within day-to-day training. The Supple Equine Club combines objective gait analysis with veterinary assessment to monitor each horse over time, creating an individual baseline and identifying meaningful change as early as possible.
This allows more confident decisions around training, workload, management, and, where appropriate, targeted therapies including mesotherapy, electroacupuncture, and shockwave therapy.
The emphasis is always on proportionate, evidence-led intervention - doing what is appropriate for the horse, and no more.
At The Supple Equine Club, we focus on minimally invasive therapies designed to support comfort, suppleness, and long-term performance.
Following clinical assessment and movement evaluation, treatment plans may include:
-
Mesotherapy — targeted superficial injections designed to address areas of muscular tension, sensitivity, and discomfort.
-
Electroacupuncture — used to support muscle relaxation, comfort, and neuromuscular function.
-
Shockwave Therapy - commonly used to support healing, manage discomfort, and improve soft tissue function.
All treatments are tailored to the individual horse and integrated alongside careful management, training, and longitudinal monitoring where appropriate.
Our approach is conservative and welfare-led, with emphasis on proportionate treatment rather than unnecessary intervention.
